Make Your Own Office Amphitheater

A lot of things have changed in offices over the years from how we dress to go to workif we go to work at allto whether a lofty corner office complete with name on the door even exists anymore. Mad Men be damned. Today, modular office furniture and office workstations are more often the norm, or spaces with modular desk systems up for grabs that you snap together and occupy at need and then alter when project requirements demand a different kind of space.

Space: Mirroring How Business Works

Modern office space often reflects the image of the business that owns it, and how those businesses imagine their work happens. Best businesses recognize that where and how their people work deeply influences their productivity. Google and Apple epitomize some of the most imaginative in office spaces, with plenty of glass, open air spaces, coffee nooks, couches, and small open-but-cozy meeting spots. Groups can gather under natural light and in comfy oversized chairs. These uber cool workspaces are designed to maximize creativity and output.

Space: Facilitating Collaboration

Shared space and the move away from private offices even for executives reflect the increasingly collaborative nature of work and the demand that space facilitate creativity and productivity at every level. But the increasing liquidity of our workspace to enhance creative momentum can sometimes become chaotic when large groups meet or as people join in or break out during brainstorming and development sessions. Sliding into work or swinging on our office chair may have its perks, but sometimes our job demands a defined space, especially for large groups, clients and client presentations, and other VIP events. Sometimes, we just have to make a presentation to everybody, and everybody has to see and hear us. Enter the office amphitheater.

Office Amphitheater: See, Hear, Speak Together

Amphitheaters offer plenty of advantages to businesses moving at full steam over the traditional board/bored room. They can offer posh individual seating, giving participants a sense of self-relevance as well as shared work areas that can be reconfigured as needed to accommodate physical models, group collaborations and other breakouts. Chairs can sport control panels for private exchanges and be tiered or curved. The central presentation area can be raised for ease of view and address. In an amphitheater voices naturally carry easily up and outward. When people can see and hear each other well, each presenter can feel like his or her presence is germane to the business at hand.

And if one of the speakers is being tied in remotely from another room/building/city or even country, an effective videoconferencing systemcomplete with large screen and good sound systemis critical to giving the same sense of immediacy and personal presence to online participants as those physically present.

Where possible, two large screens work best for online deliveries, one to accommodate people at a distance and a second to transmit Smartboard ideas, plans and doodles, electronic documents and other e-materials.

Amphitheaters: Game On

Key considerations in any meeting space enable participants to see, hear, and speak without feeling either lost in too much space or crowded out of it. Look to strike a balance in your workplace. Provide either a permanent area dedicated to important meetings and where people understand to always arrive game on, or a more casual space that can be set up and broken down, but still give people the sense that their presence, matters.

Flooring Design Ideas for Every Room in Your House

When it comes to designing your home, your flooring will play a key role in tying your whole design together. Not only that, your floor tiles will draw the eyes to the rest of the room and may even be the most exciting element of the entire area. Now with endless choices for designs and tiles, theres no need to play it safe and stick to typical colour schemes and designs. Whether you prefer contemporary or traditional design, theres lots of ways for you to show your style off through these floor design ideas.

What You Should Know About Tile Flooring

Were all drawn to pretty things that catch our eyes. Even though its easy to choose floor tiles based on how they look like, dont let appearances sway you. You should consider where these tiles will be placed, how much foot traffic there will be and if the material is appropriate for your space. Lets take for example the bathroom; even though wooden tiles are gorgeous, you wouldnt want to use them as your bathroom tiles. Since ceramic tiles are super durable and suited for rooms that see a lot of moisture, thatd be the better choice for the bathroom.

So, do choose tiles that catch your eye and suit your style. But dont forget to find out if the tiles are appropriate for the room youre thinking of placing them in. With that in mind, lets talk about the floor design ideas you can tie into different rooms in your home.

Warm Up Your Living Room With These Floor Design Ideas

The living room is one of the spaces in your home where guests will spend a lot of time in. When youre lounging around or entertaining your friends, you want to ensure your living room is an inviting and cozy space.  You can stick to dark or light wooden tiles as these tiles naturally convey a classy, warm feeling. Youre not bound to just solid coloured tiles, though. Ever considered patterned wooden tiles? You can find many beautiful designs of colourful patterned wooden floor tiles that you can easily install in your living room. From classic to funky geometric patterns, you can add both warmth and zest with these tiles.

Make a Big Impression in Your Entrance Way

Its always said that first impressions matter when you first meet people, and the same could be said for your home. Right when someone steps through your entrance way, thats your chance to make them say wow. If you want to grab someones attention, pick a statement floor design. Since this is the first space someone will see in your home, the design will set the tone and feeling for the rest of your home.

One way to make a statement in your entrance way is to use less common shaped tiles. Have you thought about using penny round tiles or triangular tiles? You can pick small or large tilesit all depends if you want a clean, modern look or a busier appearance for your entrance way. Dont forget that you can add more texture and warmth with a carpet that leads into the rest of your home.
Since people will always be crossing through your entrance way, consider ceramic or porcelain tiles as theyre strong enough to endure lots of foot traffic and outdoor conditions.

Mix & Match Floor Tile Colours & Sizes in Your Bathroom

If your bathroom already looks neutral or simple, liven it up with stunning floor tiles. Create an eclectic look with multi-coloured tiles. You dont have to settle on one colour or one size. Mixing tile colours and dimensions will definitely refresh an otherwise dull bathroom. Another option for your floors is to use mosaic tiles with different shades of an accent colour.

Remember how we mentioned that wooden tiles in a bathroom wouldnt be a good idea earlier? Fear not, its still possible to tie in the look of wood into your bathroom with porcelain tiles that are made to look like wood. They provide you with the charming appearance of wood but with the durability of porcelain (these tiles are technically porcelain tiles). These tiles are ideal for bathrooms since theyre easy to clean and are made to last.

As you can see, there are so many ways to design your floor in your home. Theres a lot of opportunity to make an impression in every room of your home. Since the floors cover such a large area of your home, its important to select tiles that suit your tastes, lifestyle and needs. That way, youll be on your way to design a picture perfect home with beautiful, long-lasting tiles.

How to use fabrics in your home decor

When it comes to fabrics factoring into your home decor, you may think it only comes into play when discussing furniture. Past that, fabrics are a concern for your wardrobe, not your living room. But fabrics are actually a great tool for giving you options when it comes time to redecorate practically any room in your home.

Below, weve compiled just some of the ways you can use fabric in new and creative ways to transform your living room, kitchen or bedroom.

Upholstery

Well start with a practical idea first, and one you may have put into practice before. Sometimes, even the best of furniture can use a pick me up. You couch is still super comfy, but years of wear and tear have taken its toll. But before you consider throwing it out, why not try upholstering it?

If you have the time and resources, you find you can pretty quickly give your furniture a quick makeover. Recovering chair seats, foot stools, and even couches isnt excessively difficult if you can follow an online guide.

As an added benefit, you can use a fabric youve always wanted to have in your home. If you chairs dont match your current style, find a fabric that does and transplant it for the old cover. Your imagination is really your only limit here.

Throws

Going a little more traditional, throws are a great, inexpensive way to change up yourroom a little bit over the course of a year. When the weather starts to get chilly, you can bring out the throws and drape them over the sofa, chairs, and tables. Then, when the weather heats up again, just the act of removing them changes up the room dynamic again.

Similar to re-upholstery, throws also open up doors for creative in your fabric use. Synthetic furs, exotic leathers, or just bright colours otherwise missing from the design can now be added, without the worry that they wont suit the room year round.

Ceiling fillers

Did you know that India is the second biggest exporter of silk in theworld? It is perhaps why you will find fabrics used for decoration more commonly in their culture than ours. Silk is a wonderful material in many ways, but its home decor potential is vastly under explored.

For example, if you want to make your ceiling pop, consider draping silk across it. It creates a wonderful, almost romantic addition to your bedroom, as the soft material hangs in waves across the whole room. For big rooms, you could also consider fixing silk to a central point, and then span out to the edges of the room.

Fabric art

Really want to push the boat out? Then why not give fabric art a try? Instead of adorning your walls with paintings and photographs, you could instead use pictures made from different fabrics, like leathers, silks, or wool. Think hand stitched pictorial rugs, or sewed pieces of art. Anything more tactile than the usual fare is both unique and better at catching the eye & starting a conversation.

The Power of Purple and Green - The Rising Popularity of Gender Neutral Gifts and Decorations

Way back when, pink was considered a masculine, strong and prominent colour and was used for boys, blue was a gentle, muted and creative colour and was reserved for girls. Over the past 50 years, these representations have been reversed somewhat and nowadays pink is more girly whereas blue is often more boyish. However when it comes to giving gifts, it can put people in a bit of a rut.
Will he like this? Its a little pink? Does she like blue dresses? Its a bit masculinefor a dress

Gifts that are a particular colour can often be misconstrued as for boys or for girls and when dealing with a child, with an individual, this can be a one way ticket to the title of bad gift giver. If your recipient doesnt like flowers or prefers butterflies to bats, they could get pretty upset if you give them something they in essence dont really want.

That is where gender neutral gifts and decorations come in really handy. To use a few examples, both purple and green are considered gender neutral colours as they contain some aspects of both masculinity and femininity. They are safe colours and dont make a lot of assumptions about the childs perceived hobbies and interests based on whether they are a boy or a girl. Can decorations and gifts affect children in such a massive way? You would be surprised.

Reduced Stress on Kids

Some girls love Barbie dolls and getting their nails painted, some boys also have an interest in looking nice or getting their nails painted. Some boys like tinkering with cars and building tree-houses, some girls also prefer a mud pie to a pink cupcake. Some kids dont care about what others thing of them, but when they are pressured into a certain colour, it can cause unnecessary stress and doubt.
With gender neutral gifts, this helps put less pressure on those children whose interests deviate from the current social norm. They are able to appreciate the gift at its basest level without worrying if it is too manly or girly.

Perfect for Baby Showers

When a friend or relative is expecting a baby, there are countless gifts you can give to help them along the way during the first few months. Baby clothes are always desperately needed because of the intense amount of growing children tend to do after they exit the womb. This is where gender neutral gifts and clothing becomes infinitely useful, as you dont even have to know the gender of the baby before you start buying gifts and clothing in preparation for the birth.

Some Children are Vocal, Others are Not

Some kids know exactly what they want, when they want it. These ones are easy to buy gifts for; they spend half their time exclaiming loudly what they like and what they are fond of. Other kids are less vocal about what their likes and interests are, so it can be a bit difficult to decide on a fitting gift.
This is where gender neutral gifts can also help as it prevents you from creating a potential disaster with an unwanted gift, as well as opening the child up to a new hobby or interest that they might not have tried before. By playing it safe with gender neutral gifts, you can help children become creative and open minded individuals who arent afraid to think outside the box.

Remember, At the End of the Day it is Their Choice

There has been a lot of controversy in the news over the past couple of years about gender specific toys and the harms of raising children or pushing children to act a certain way. At the end of the day, it is important to allow your child the right to choose what they want as a gift. It is no use pushing a child towards a certain interest or hobby, as a parent, if it is not something that they have any genuine interest in, and it will ultimately just make your child miserable.

Stay open minded about the choices your child makes, but dont try to sway their decision either way. Children know what they like and they know what will make them happy, so long as they are in a safe and sane environment and they are not garnering any bad habits, let them have their time to explore and find their own interests in life. It is a part of creating unique children who will make a big difference on the world, in a good way.

5 types of safety signs you will use every day - even if you do not realise it

Safety signs are part of everyones lives and are encountered on a daily basis even if we do not realise. There are also standardised designs and methods to convey particular messages in graphical format, we all know what these designs mean and most people will feel comfortable in deciphering the message. The simple nature of the signs allow for this and enable us to understand what is, or is not allowed in a quick and easy manner.

In many parts of the world the same format is used, although this is often done with a slight local twist. In this article we look at 5 of the most common types of sign that you will see every day and understand even if it does not register immediately.

Prohibition Signs

A prohibitory sign is possibly the most recognisable and easiest to understand of all the different types of warning and safety signs. It is comprised of a red circle and a red diagonal line on top of a black pictogram, the background is white and the red parts have to take up at least 35% of the total area of the sign. The most common of these signs is likely to be a No Smoking sign as since 2007 smoking in public places throughout the United Kingdom has been illegal. You will encounter a No Smoking sign in many varied locations, including company cars, workplaces, theatres and public transport. You will also recognise this style of sign on the roads as the red circle is used for prohibitory traffic signs for example a 30mph maximum speed sign.

Warning Signs

Warning signs are triangular in shape, although depending on their use the colour may be either a red outline and white interior, or a black outline with a yellow base. The red variation is used for traffic warning signs for example roadworks, ice on the road and flooding, whilst the yellow version conveys a safety message. A common example of these yellow warning signs are ones with an exclamation mark in them. This is a general warning sign that can be used for a number of purposes, for example these premises are alarmed or caution: automatic door. Other common uses of this sign would be to warn about the use of CCTV or the presence of machinery being used.

Mandatory Signs

With a blue circular background and a white pictogram, mandatory signs are used both in the workplace and on the roads. They are used to tell you what you must do, for example on the roads these style signs are used for one-way systems and mandatory turns. Mandatory signs are especially common in the construction industry, where there are a lot of health and safety guidelines you will normally see a compulsory hard hat sign upon entrance to a building site. When these signs are accompanied by a message this message will be in white text on a blue rectangular background, situated below the main image.

Safe Condition Signs

All the signs above have been about telling you what you can and cannot do, this is where safe condition signs breakaway from the others. These signs are about telling you something is safe or is the way to safety, often you will see them illuminated or with glow in the dark capabilities. All of these signs have a green square or rectangular body with white symbols and text. The clearest example of a safe condition sign is a Fire Exit or Emergency Exit sign, although you will also see them on a first aid kit.  In terms of signs a green and white sign will normally guide you to safety or demonstrate something is safe, for example water.

Fire Equipment Signs

The final sign that we will highlight in this article is one that signifies fire equipment, these are normally found next to fire extinguishers or fire alarms. These signs are red in colour (the same as fire extinguishers, fire alarms and fire blankets) with white pictograms and text. It is no coincidence that the colour is the same as the equipment it is giving information on red means fire, so in a tense and chaotic situation you can instantly connect the sign with the event. These signs are used to display the location of equipment that would be used in the event of a fire.

All signs have been designed for a particular purpose and the signs above all follow guidelines on what they should look like, how big they should be and their shapes. Through continuity and familiarity we instinctively understand the meaning of the majority of signs even if the text is not in our native language. Safety signs are part of our lives everyday but go unnoticed for most even though we obey their message the majority of the time.

How to Maintain and Manage a Healthy Boiler

The household will generally feel a lot happier knowing that their boiler is being closely monitored on a weekly basis for any issues that may have cropped up. Healthy boilers are something we all strive to have, especially when we consider how much we may have to pay out to get certain parts of a boiler repaired. All that is required is regular maintenance and this will ensure you boiler is working as efficiently as possible, safely and cost-effectively.

It is vitally important that your boiler is provided with regular maintenance and servicing on an annual basis at the hands of a full qualified and professional engineer. This is also a requirement of your warranty so its very important that you contact the Gas Safe Engineer when he is required. What many homeowners struggle with however is what to do in between these services, so what can you do to ensure that your boiler is running at its most efficiently throughout the year?

Dont Touch the Casing

A boilers casing should not be moved at any stage between the annual services and only a Gas Safe registered engineer is legally qualified to remove your boilers casing. It doesnt matter whether you believe your boiler may be the source of a problem that has arisen or if you suspect your boiler is damaged, always get I touch with an expert. It is important not to go looking or listening for any problems with the casing. If you decide to do this yourself with gas it can be extremely dangerous and lead to potential leaks, fires, explosions and carbon monoxide poisoning.

Keep Your Boiler Clean

So its important never to remove the casing but you should still look to keep your boiler as clean as possible with the freedom you do have to look after it. If you have a boiler that is based in the kitchen, there is a good chance you might have to clean it now and again. Likewise, a boiler that is stored somewhere that can get dusty over time may require the same treatment. All you need to do is take a damp cloth and wipe the boiler down but make sure the cloth you use is not an abrasive material. Make sure you dont use too much water and you let the boiler dry out after you have cleaned it.

Dont Block Your Boiler Up

If your boiler is situated in a cupboard or small storage compartment, or if you plan to build around your recently installed boiler, make sure that you get hold of the manufacturers recommended clearances before doing this so that, when the time comes for your boiler to be assess, it can be done safely and efficiently. Blockages can occur when too much dust or dirt has built up around the boiler over the course of a few months or so, so make sure that the flues, vents and grilles are always cleaned of any dust.

Style Choices - How the Layout of a Store Can Affect your Shopping Experience

When it comes to the store layout, project managers and designers can be real crafty creators, as the way they choose to lay out the store can really affect the success of a sale. After all, how likely are you to return to a store which is cramped, hard to navigate and has sparse, unattractive lighting? If you dont feel welcome in a store, nothing is essentially keeping you from taking your business elsewhere. By combining a number of different elements; a few of which we will show below, retail store designers and managers find a way to increase sales and revenue.

Easy to Navigate and Attractive

Many stores are organised into particular categories in order to provide some guide for the customers. If a store has no logical organisation, even vague categories or signs that differentiate men from womens clothing for example, customers are likely to feel frustrated and powerless and are less likely to spend time there. While it can be very easy to simply go up to a member of staff and ask for a particular product, many people prefer to browse at their own pace and discretion and this can be intimidating for some.

By separating your stock into specific categories, you allow customers the freedom to browse wherever they like, or to head straight for the section or aisle they are looking for in particular. You can also create themes for these sections, by adding their own unique design flair so that they are instantly recognisable upon entering the store. For example, book stores will often have a bright and colourful section complete with plush chairs, trees and train sets to represent the childrens section. You know immediately that the childrens books are likely to be located there, so it saves a lot of time and effort in your search. .

Gifts and Nibbles By The Till

Youve seen several different retail outlets that contain a whole number of treasures and little gifts that adorn the isles on the way to the till, where you can finally pay for your product. This is another marketing technique that seems a lot like the salesmen are waving a piece of candy in your face. You might not entirely need everything that you see along these isles, but they can be useful in situations and will always make good stocking fillers. Products such as lip balm, chocolate bars, gum and socks are often seen in these aisles as you never intend to buy them, but they are often something you might need.

Choice of Lighting

Certain retail stores will be flooded with bright lighting, spotlights everywhere highlighting various products, as well as multi-coloured lights flickering on and off to keep you entertained. On the other hand, other retail stores have more muted lighting, or dim lighting to make you concentrate more and focus on the product at hand.

Consider the appearance of a Soap store in comparison to a clothes store. Soap stores will be lit with different colours, spotlights shining on certain products, but in general, the lighting is more muted as you will be focused on the texture and the scent of the product. In comparison, visual appeal is everything when it comes to clothes, so a clothes store will appear brightly lit with attractive lighting in order to bring more appeal to the garments within.

While you may not be thinking about all these elements when an article of clothing or your favourite bands latest CD catches your eye in a shopping centre, you can certainly bet that the stores marketing managers and design assistants have worked for hours to get the arrangement just right. Attracting customers to their stores is a major part of advertising as without customers, the product isnt sold and the company goes out of business. By creating attractive layouts that are easy to understand, brightly coloured and simple to navigate, you also create a welcoming atmosphere that makes shoppers far more likely to buy your products. It is all about marketing.

Metal towel bars as lid racks. Dont you hate it when youre having a hard time getting a pot out of the pile of pots? Be careful not to drop one. Also, how much time have you lost trying to figure out where to put next those lids? Well, the answer is here. Mount a towel rack (not too bulky; preferably those that stands around 2 inches) onto the sides of your wooden cabinet or inside your cabinet, whichever you choose. There you have it, slide in your lids and let them have their own home.

Divide spaces in your drawers. Throwing your utensils in a drawer without dividers or any other tool to separate one from another will do no good for you. It is a nightmare. If you have the patience and a few dollars in your pocket, youll have a well-organized and neat utensils drawer that you will surely adore. You have the option to glue the divider board in the drawer or not. As a suggestion, glue the boards together and skip gluing them in the drawer itself. That way you can lift the divider piece and clean the drawer seamlessly.

Mount a pegboard and start hanging. If you live in a rental or a small kitchen space, this could be a big help for your organization and stacking dilemma. To squeeze in more extra pockets here and there, hang tiny baskets where you can put your utensils, spices, etc. Hang your essentials strategically so you can maximize the space and not waste an inch.

Container everything! Just when you thought there arent any more options, one of the most cheapest and ideal hacks would be storing everything by order in containers and then putting them in your shelves. If you have an open shelves storage, you might want to consider choosing uniformed containers to make it appear nice and tidy. Moreover, since youre storing everything in a container, think about getting rid of your flour carton and keep it in a mason jar or glass container. The same goes for your cereal, sugar, coffee, baking soda, cornstarch, etc. And while youre at it, label the containers accordingly.

Have an Organized Kitchen for Thanksgiving

Kitchens can get cluttered around the holidays, especially on Thanksgiving with all the food and drinks being passed around. Dishes on every counter, glasses in everyones hands, and people crowding around the table. Its easy to get flustered with everything going on, so here are some tips on how to keep organized in the kitchen.

Pantry and Fridge First

Before the holiday season begins, take the deep dive into your tupperware containers and the back of your fridge. Clean out every drawer and shelf, throw out anything bad or even questionable, and stack everything in again so that it fits well. Wipe off anything sticky, as these spots can attract fruit flies. As an added bonus, you can take inventory at this point and get a better idea of what youre going to need to buy for the recipes youll be making.

Protect your Recipes

Be it a Betty Crocker cookbook or a time honored family heirloom, youre going to want to make sure everything survives another holiday season for next year. Many families have found that lamination can take care of many spills and stains that would otherwise destroy that culinary tradition. Otherwise bookstands or tape can keep your delicious recipe away from harm. Have your recipes hover above the food and clutter while staying in sight for easy reference.

Move the Party Away from the Kitchen

Youre cooking a great deal of items that all require different times, temperatures, and preparation. To have people moving around you and diving in and out of the room isnt just less than ideal, its potentially dangerous. So move the party to a different location. Set the apps and the bar away from the action, while still in plain sight. Your guests will swing by and keep the party moving and lively. Also people are naturally attracted to light, so just keep it dim in less favorable rooms. Whatever works to keep the traffic flowing.

Clean Up

The least fun part of the meal can be done with both speed and precision. Have containers and baggies at the ready beforehand, and your guests can take a buffet home with them. This will leave you with enough fridge room for everything else. Assign the kids to do the fast jobs, like dishes, to make time more efficient. And speaking of efficiency, scrape off the food at the table to stack those plates up high. This is especially true in smaller kitchens where space is always an issue. And be kind to your garbage disposal, the amount of grease that goes down there can merit a call to a plumber. Cleaning up doesnt have to be a chore when youre surrounded by friends and family.

10 Tips to Make Your Apartment Feel Homey

Houses are made by bricks, while a home is made with heartfelt emotions, wise thoughts and superb decorations in it. Our hectic life schedule leaves us a minimum scope to sit and relax. However, homes are special destinations, where we shed our entire days glitches and get a refreshed motivation to face new challenges. A home makes us feel safe and secured. It is the best place where we look forward, to get back both after a stressful working day or an awesome vacation. Thus, we say Home sweet home and it doesnt matter wherever we go, getting back to the cozy corner of our own is always alluring.

Homes reflect persona, attribute, choice and social position of the occupants. To make such a special place more enticing, it is important that your house is neatly decorated that creates a positive aura for the residents and also for the guests. In recent times, Pune city has witnessed, the availability of apartments made of quality raw materials. Making an abode feel Homey is not very big deal. Some simple alterations and upgradation can easily transform the flats in Pune to a residential haven. But before doing so, keep in mind to decide your budget for the same. Here are some 10 tips that can get a makeover for your apartment:

1. Color your dream shelter: An exotic coloring scheme can set an impressive refashioning of the abodes. Decide well and chose the colors. A contrast of shades in a room and a designer coloring or textured painting in the other can really make a difference in the appearance.

2. Upgrade furniture: Change you old furniture with the new one. Remodeling the old furniture may also help if you have an emotional attachment with it.

3. Bright Lights will help: Lighten up your cozy corner to get a vibrant feel. An exquisite lighting of the apartments creates a majestic ambience. You can choose different lighting programs for each room to uplift the dcor.

4. Invest in accessories: Accessorize your apartment with home dcor items. A carpet on the floor or a beautiful curtain or even a bunch of artificial flower in a chic flower vase, can really make a lot of difference in the appearance and presentation.

5. Increase storage capacity: Make sure that your apartment has enough storage capacity. Scattered and sparsely arranged things will get a direction, if you have capacious storage options. Decorative and multi-use cabinets and boxes will ease out the arrangement for disorganized things.

6. Apply variations in decorative theme: Pick a different theme for each room. A decorative contrast in the interiors helps in creating an exquisite existence of your shelter.

7. Dont leave a single space untouched: If you are planning to make a creative change in your apartment, runs a cautious eye to each and every nook of your shelter. The makeover is incomplete if you later find that you have missed any room or even a corner.

8. Insists in cleanliness: Make a habit of cleaning your apartment regularly. A shabby abode with regal interiors will hold a null value.

9. Capacious outlook is important: Avoid stuffing your apartment in the name of interior decoration. A simply decorated spacious apartment soothes the livelihood as compared to stuffed shelters. Enough breathing space in important for a cozy lifestyle.

10. Regular maintenance is a must: Keep a routine for an overall health check of your apartments. This will help in keeping away filthy invasions like pests away.

These simple tips will help in getting a creative change in the homes. Apartments in Pune are no exceptions. Maintaining is equally important as implementing decorative changes. Keep making innovative change in dcor and surprise your guest every time they step-in.

Home Redecoration Tips for the Disabled

In recent years, people have grown progressively more sensitive to the plight of people with disabilities. Aside from offering care and support, there is nothing a disabled person appreciates more than having the opportunity to be as independent as possible within his or her own home. And, with 1 in 5 families already having at least one person that suffers from a long-term disability, seniors included, taking the right measures at the right time can dramatically improve the level of comfort for everyone involved. As someone who has already gone through this situation, I can give you a few tips that will help increase the living standards of those afflicted with disabilities, without sacrificing style or making things more awkward for any able-bodied person living in the same house:

1. De-clutter

Due to wheelchair size and other factors, disabled people often require a sizable amount of room in order to operate comfortably. One of the easiest things that you can do lies in analyzing your home and seeking ways in which to de-clutter as much as possible. Take out extra furniture, fold things that you don't use and generally keep everything tidy in and around the most heavily trafficked areas in the house.

2. Widen doorways

Facilitating movement sometimes requires more than just de-cluttering the house. Australian doors normally come with a standard 820mm width, which is not the optimal size for wheelchairs. Try to widen them by at least one and a half feet and consider removing doors altogether wherever a simple open path might be a better option.

3. Handrails and handles

Anybody who is forced to use a wheelchair will obviously have to rely a lot on their hands to get around. Thus, handrails can provide much needed support along ramps and pathways, while handles can be either wall-mounted or inserted directly into the furniture at key spots. A good example of the latter would be a smart insertion into the counters located in the kitchen area, which will then allow disabled persons the freedom to reorient themselves on the fly and access everything they need.

4. Showering amenities

As age takes its toll on joint flexibility and reaction speed, shower accidents tend to become a common and often painful occurrence. An ideal solution would lie in inserting a bariatric shower chair that will permit the person inside to be comfortably seated without compromising their ability to wash themselves adequately. As an added bonus, transforming your shower into a walk-in cabin makes it more accessible by eliminating unnecessary barriers.

5. Adaptable beds

Sleep is essential both for recuperation purposes and for providing a decent level of comfort to any person, disabled or not. But people with disabilities tend to have more specific needs that cannot be fulfilled by an ordinary bed. From beds with adjustable heights to dynamic mattresses and even fully functional home care systems, Acute Healthcare can provide everything you'll need for a comfortable rest with all the amenities of professional care.

6. Customized furniture

Being independent means having access to the same kinds of options as an able-bodied person. That's why adapting your furniture is a must if you want to make your home disabled-friendly. Simply installing low counters, storage cabinets and tables can make a real difference in the life of a disabled person. Additionally, it's a good idea to carve some slip-in space in important spots such as in front of the stove, allowing disabled people to cook for themselves.

7. Friendly floor finishes

An oft-overlooked aspect lies in providing the disabled person with a floor that won't work against them. Carpets, for example, make it hard for wheelchair-bound people to get around, whereas ceramic tiles and sheet materials harbor no such issues and can also be easily cleaned and replaced if necessary. For best results opt for non-slip surfaces that are as visually appealing as they are safe.

As you can see, the things required for someone with a long-term disability to live comfortably aren't necessarily expensive or difficult to install. And, once implemented, they will continue to provide support in the years to come, thus raising the value of your home and giving your family a safety net for the future.
